With more than 30 years’ experience as a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO), Donna is Head of Clinical Services at Ottobock.care Ireland, based at our clinic in the National Orthopaedic Hospital Cappagh.
Throughout her career, Donna has developed particular expertise in paediatric prosthetic and orthotic care, working alongside multidisciplinary teams at Cappagh, the Central Remedial Clinic, and Children’s Health Ireland hospitals. She has supported children and families from across Ireland, helping young patients achieve their goals and maximise their independence.
She also has extensive experience in prosthetic rehabilitation for young and active amputees, including patients with ankle, knee and hip disarticulation amputations. Working closely with orthopaedic consultants and the National Tumour Service, Donna enjoys finding practical and innovative solutions to meet each patient's individual needs.
What she finds most rewarding is seeing the difference that the right solution can make to someone's life: whether that's improving comfort and mobility, helping someone regain confidence and independence, or supporting a patient to return to the activities they enjoy. Her experience also includes providing care to athletes competing at the Paralympic Games.
After more than three decades in the profession, her motivation remains the same: helping people achieve greater mobility, independence and quality of life.
